fantasy shopping spree mondays

he new week brings new lustworthy items to the house of herlongwayhome.

this week we are love love loving these pants

so we put together two sets for your lusting pleasure - one colorful and one neutral. be sure to click the links after each set to find out purchasing information.
bright anthropologie

we can always count on anthropologie for a colorful boost to any outfit. or a girly one.

neutral girly

for our neutrals we have the ever reliable jcrew, as well as anthropologie for a girly touch to a basic outfit. we are looooooooooooving this set. unfortunately it would cost us $592 to own it all. it's simply heartbreaking.

and then we have elephants. ever since dumbo, we've loved elephants.

okay we're not sure that's exactly true. dumbo made us cry and made our hearts ache when we were kids. but in the last few years our obsession with elephants has grown. it's expanded into little figurenes on our desks, right down to extra long necklaces.

they're a symbol of fertility, knowledge, and most of all good luck. so we like to rock them. and with all the options out there for the growing jewelry trend, we're sure you'll find one you'd like to rock, too!

what is so great about this trend is that there are some ultra affordable choices for these great pieces! well worth the gander!

fantasy shopping spree mondays

this week's fantasy shopping spree is inspired by an upcoming interview. one thing about being young in the corporate world is our leway to wear colorful patterns and bold jewelry (as well as extra tall heels and crazy tops).

these four looks are pretty basic - navy skirt, black skirt, purple skirt, and a silve/gray brocade skirt. we've selected a printed cardigan, a basic whtie bouse, a fun gray top and a fun plum colored top. the accessories add a pop to each outfit, and the louboutins add an element of glamour to each look. what we love so much about these looks is each item is interchangable and we can mix and match depending on our mood!

(please click here to see the product info)

here, we've added denim to show how versatile our choices for tops (and louboutins) can be for a casual friday look. adding different pieces of jewelry or layering sweaters on top of these basic looks will also allow you to change up your look with less pieces.

and for our much loved pick 10 monday, we have selected 10 pairs of louboutins instead of handbags and jewelry (scarves and belts and hats and....)

we're sure you love all of these as much as we do!

i like to pair something a little too sweet and sugary with something more tailored

so while i was meandering in casa sugar's 'coveted crib' section, i happened across this house.

how do i love thee - let me count the ways.

the house is that of jenna lyons - the creative director of j crew. if you don't know me, all you need to know is that i would love to look like i just fell out of the j crew catalogue. the styling and marketing of the brand is impeccable, mostly because i simply adore layers.

if you don't know who jenna lyons is, but love j crew, you need to know who she is. i remember the first time i saw an interview with her in a magazine (which magazine, i don't recall) i tore out the page because 1. i loved her and 2. i loved her style and 3. because i had figured out who the genius is behind my second most favorite store (my number one fav)

so here is the first lady of fashion's brooklyn town house. prepare yourself to fall in love.
(if the pictures are a little fuzzy, check out living etc's spread)

jenna and her artist-husband, vincent mazeau, and their little boy spent 2 years restoring their brownstone from the late 1800s...but really this fabulous house needs no introduction.

there's also a great interview with jenna lyons, check it out here, here, here and here.
